iPhone 5 16GB – The High End Smartphone from Apple

Posted in , ,
The new Apple iPhone 5 is the tallest, slimmest and lightest among its competitors and predecessors. This time Apple has decided to move away from the all glass finish and included aluminum in the rear design, which is effective in minimizing scratches and fingerprint marks.  Apart from being a 4” screen, with a display resolution at 1136x640 pixels, it is sharp and bright as against the previous versions. The phone has two cameras.

One rear camera is an 8-megapixel, ‘iSight’ autofocus, HD camera. It can also capture videos at 720p resolution. The other is a front camera for face time Wi-Fi calls. It is a 1.2-megapixel. The cameras have improvised features such as the low light performance and camera colour accuracy.

There are some upgrade issues as well such as the Lightning connector. The existing iPhone users may feel it bothersome to find that this model uses a new connector for charging and transferring files from a computer. The older Dock connector cannot be used anymore. Functioning on LTE networks is a concern outside U.S. The main reason being interoperability and different frequency bands followed in different regions.

The new Nano-SIM which is being used for iPhone 5 is even smaller than the previous micro-SIM. So, you need to exchange your old SIMs for the new nano version to operate your iPhone5.

The newly integrated app, iCloud is for free unlimited storage where you can store backups, data online. The storage options on your iPhone go up to 16, 32 and 64GB. If you are a camera phone admirer or an app enthusiast, you should go for a high storage. Some of the iOS features are limited to geographical and network portability such as the Maps App. Apple has decided to provide its own mapping data instead of using Google Maps.

In case you are busy, with this you can reply to a phone call with per-drafted text messages. An automatic follow-up alert will remind you to call back. A new dramatic feature is the ‘Do not Disturb’ feature that mutes incoming phone calls, texts, emails and other notifications at your designated time. You can also put exceptional names/contacts which you want to keep out of this feature.
